Happy New Year! Wait, does that say February 5? Hmmm… We’ve been pretty quiet at dignify so far in 2014, enjoying rest, restoration of energy, and many cold days under warm kantha blankets.
For me personally, the fall and holiday season was extremely full, juggling a new baby (my third) and the first anniversary of my unofficial baby, dignify. By January, the retail quiet and chilly weather in Calgary provided me a true winter break. I am so very thankful for the privilege of work; I am also thankful for the privilege of rest from it!
But, the excitement of business and the inspiration of the work we’re doing is irresistible. It has been exciting to see the growing availability of attractive, ethically made products, even since first looking a mere 18 months ago. Looking ahead, we are keen to introduce new products throughout the year to complement our signature kantha blankets.
And in Bangladesh, BASHA – our blanket-producing partner – is celebrating the opening of a third office: a sure sign that there is both a growing demand for their beautiful products, and an abundance of women who can be employed in this work.
