  • "Kantha" quilts are six layers of sari cloth, hand-stitched together by women in Bangladesh using a traditional kantha stitch.
  • All six layers are repurposed vintage sari cloth with varying patterns. The outer two layers of our indigo kantha have been dyed using the remarkable natural indigo dye process. Learn more about indigo >
  • All stitching is in white thread. The patterns (visible through the indigo dye) do vary, as each piece of dyed cloth is unique. 
  • Machine washable! Recommended: cold wash & flat or hang dry, or tumble on low. Indigo is colorfast.
  • Dimensions: Throw: 40" x 80" (100 x 200 cm), Large Throw: 76" x 76" (200 x 200 cm)
  • These throws have been hand-crafted in Bangladesh by women who were previously trafficked into or otherwise engaged in formal or floating sex work (or at risk). Now, they are employed in work that brings dignity & livelihood. Read more...
