I truly cannot find words to describe my kantha throw Summersweet. I wish I had saved the image on your website. It appeared to be a light grayed blue backed with solid orange. When I first saw it I knew immediately it was what I had been searching for, for months. I bought it to match and complement the paint in my bedroom, Benjamin Moore Soft Chinchilla.
But it is not just a match, this throw defies description, and words are my passion. I have it on our bed. The bedroom changes color from a lovely sky blue during the day and strong sunlight, to a serene blue-gray sky of dusk at sundown, by lamplight. So do the blue and patterns on Summersweet.
The colors shimmer, not just between lighter and darker, but with shades and hints of color, so much that I cannot pin them down. The orange side of the kantha that I reluctantly accepted because I wanted the blue, I now embrace. It is a gorgeous color. It makes the bedroom glow with the orange of a setting sun. I fold the throw so both sides can be seen.
It took a couple days before I realized there are patches on the one side of the kantha. They blend in. It took my husband standing at just the right angle to see a third patch. A week later! And after I had looked it over closely after the first discovery to see if there were others. That third patch is virtually invisible. Shati is a very talented seamstress. I could see her creating elegant wedding gowns.
This probably sound dramatized, but I assure you it is not. I've had the throw for two weeks now, and I continue marveling at its beauty. I sent Shati a message. Maybe you've seen it? I see another throw that I immediately recognized as her work. Her kanthas are subtly elegant.
Thank you for your hand in helping these women.
