Classic Style means that there is visible patterning on the sari cloth that has been dyed.
Simply Indigo means there is very little patterning showing through the cloth; it is navy & primarily showcases the white kantha stitch
Indigo with Green Tones means that the sari cloth beneath, when dyed, produced greenish colors, in addition to the standard navy/indigo
Indigo with Purple Tones means that the sari cloth beneath, when dyed, produced purple colors, in addition to the standard navy/indigo

These throws have been hand-crafted in Bangladesh by women vulnerable to, or in recovery from:
Now, they are employed in work that brings dignity & livelihood!
All of our “Kantha” throws are six layers of sari cloth, hand-stitched together using a traditional running (kantha) stitch. With indigo styles, we add one more element.
The outer layers of the throw (before stitching) are dyed using the remarkable, natural indigo dye process:
Natural indigo is derived when cuttings from the tropical indigofera tinctoria plant are submerged in warm water, creating a fermentation process. The miracle occurs when the greenish liquid is oxidized, turning it blue!
The indigo sediment is separated from the liquid, dried, and ground into powder. This pigment is used to dye the cloth for our kantha blankets! One small chemical element is added at the end of the process to ensure our blankets are colorfast.
