Our king & queen size kantha quilts are designed a bit differently than our kantha spreads, but retain the same look & feel of all of our kantha. Instead of one sari on each side, the blanket is produced from three different, complementary sari fabrics. The cloth is trimmed into strips, machine sewn into the larger size, then hand-stitched with the additional 5 layers of sari cloth including the final, bottom layer in a natural white.
The stitching is done in the opposite direction from that of the strips with steady, impressive consistency, just like all of our kantha blankets. King kantha quilts are sized so that the stitching would run head to toe on the bed, while the strips of fabric run side-to-side. Full/Queen kanthas can be used either way.
If you decide you would like to go ahead with a custom kantha bedding project, here is what to expect:
First, I will share a dropbox folder with you that features all of the available fabrics to choose from. You can choose all three, or two, with the final one to be chosen by our team.
Once you have chosen, I will ask for a non-refundable deposit (though, during the process if you change your mind or decide not to go ahead, can be used as dignify store credit). When this is confirmed, we will begin the construction of your own, custom kantha quilt!
Timing for delivery is based on dignify’s other kantha orders & deliveries from Bangladesh. Expect 1-2 months at minimum before you would receive your blanket.
