This kantha is one-of-a-kind, stitched slowly by hand. Made in the traditional style of northern Bengal, it’s stitched with thicker thread across repurposed sari—rich in color, pattern, and history. The density of the stitching and the layering of the sari give it a depth and texture you don’t see in anything mass-produced.
Best suited for a twin/full bed, or layered across the foot of a larger bed, it has a way of bringing warmth and a sense of completion to the space.
Some things take time to make well. This is one of them.

- Handcrafted by women in a village in Bangladesh, they work for several hours per day and complete a blanket over ~2 months. This blanket provides good work that allows her to stay in her home village without migrating to the city.

Care
Like our classic kantha throws, special kantha are 100% cotton and will not warp or distort from heat. However, the nature of the stitching is more delicate; handle with care.
If you would like to wash your blanket in a machine, use a protective bag or cover if possible. Do not wash in a top-loading machine.
To extend the life of your kantha we recommend: limit full washing, and hang dry or tumble on low.
