This one-of-a-kind kantha coverlet is stitched slowly by hand in the traditional style of northern Bengal. Made from repurposed sari, it carries rich color, pattern, and history—layered together to create a depth and texture you won’t find in anything mass-produced.
Designed to fit a queen bed with a comfortable, slightly tailored drape. On a full bed, it offers a more generous, relaxed look.
Handcrafted by a woman in rural Bangladesh, she works for several hours each day and completes a piece like this over the course of about two months. This kind of work allows her to stay in her home community while earning steady income through her skill.

Care
Like our classic kantha throws, special kantha are 100% cotton and will not warp or distort from heat. However, the nature of the stitching is more delicate; handle with care.
If you would like to wash your blanket in a machine, use a protective bag or cover if possible. Do not wash in a top-loading machine.
To extend the life of your kantha we recommend: limit full washing, and hang dry or tumble on low.
